
In this visualization technique, you are at a splendid theater. You get your ticket and your snacks, stroll into the theater, walk down the aisle and pick out a seat. You see the curtains open and the movie begins; only you notice that the movie didn't start at the beginning of your life. The movie opens with a scene from your life that you want to change - you want to transform the scene so that it has no more control over you when you recall that memory.
You decide how the movie or scene ends, with the promise of “more GOOD TIMES to come” in a self-directed future “film” to be determined, written & produced by YOU!


MOVIE THEATER
This technique is used for “third party observer” methods of treatment. As a detached observer, you dissociate from your feelings about a negative experience; thus thinking objectively about the memory & maintaining self-control of your nervous system. Like a computer, your mind will remain unaffected, non-feeling & logical while your observer self watches a movie on the big screen – a movie about your life – a scene from the past in which you experienced something emotionally charged with negative energy that left an unpleasant residue in your memory banks (neural net).






At the point of observing yourself on the big screen, you are directed to detach even further; imagining yourself now standing in the back of the theater, as well as sitting in the theater watching a scene from your past on the big screen. In other words, during this hypnotherapy session, you will be observing yourself watching a movie about your former self. From the back of the theater, you see yourself having a reaction to the scene on the big screen. You don’t look at the big screen from the “third party observer” viewpoint. You look at yourself sitting in the chair & you walk down the aisle to where the “second party observer” is sitting. You focus all of your attention on observing the reactions of this “second party” self & you communicate with this part of yourself, listening & validating the experience; offering comfort & encouraging words; empowering yourself to become the Director & Producer of this movie or scene. In a way, you become your own therapist in this hypnotherapy exercise. I am the guide, using your words & framing the experience for personal transformation. The movie is re-wound to the particular scene & with the “third party observer” at your side, you watch the new, revised, edited version of the movie scene, experiencing the feelings of relief, comfort &/or a neutral feeling of detachment.
